Hers is a complex case, and it will take multiple surgeries but at least now she has something she didn’t have before finding Dr. Tollestrup – hope. Follow her journey and watch part one of her story.
“My name is Cheryl, and I live in St. George Utah. I love golfing, hiking and anything outdoors. This has been my life for quite a while.
A few years ago, suddenly one day I experienced chronic pelvic pain. It was just unbelievable. I was not able to sit or walk due to this pain, which took me on a journey of traveling across the country to various specialist trying to get help. I would sit on ice as I traveled or lie down in the backseat of a car because it was just so uncomfortable. It was so mentally disturbing.
I was diagnosed with Pudendal Neuralgia. I had two surgeries, but neither of them worked. I am still left with pain and the inability to sit or walk very far. I went to my original surgeon, and he said there was nothing else he could do, and this was just part of my disease. I was very disturbed by that news and very depressed. I wasn’t sure about life anymore. I lost all my social friends on the golf course. I tried to walk a little bit and then got bilateral sciatica.
Finally, a friend recommended Dr. Tim Tollestrup. He is a pain-focused peripheral nerve surgeon. I went to see him, and he examined me. He talked to me and asked me questions and pressed on different parts of my legs and feet and gave me a thorough physical examination. I have not experienced this before with any doctor or surgeon. I felt this man really knows what he’s doing, and I have confidence in me.
Dr. Tollestrup told me I was going to be a complicated case, and I was going to require multiple surgeries. He said he was willing to do that for me if I was willing to go along too. Of course, I said yes.
We had the first procedure done about three months ago, and I have benefited from that. In that surgery, Dr. Tollestrup did a left Posterior Femoral Cutaneous Nerve neurectomy. I received a bit of relief in that area.
Dr. Tollestrup is just amazing. I can’t say enough good things about him already. I would encourage anybody was struggling watching this video that you should not give up because I’m not going to give up hope. I’m going to keep going and I hope you do too. I am just grateful that I found him because there’s hope in my life again. I didn’t have any hope before meeting Dr. Tollestrup.”
