Two Peripheral Nerve Surgeries to Relieve Piriformis and Sciatica Pain: Karen’s Long Road Back

Karen’s pain journey is typical of patients with nerve pain, if there is such a thing. She woke up one day with sciatica pain that became excruciating to the point of debilitating. She tried many treatments including but not limited to pain injections, deep tissue massage, acupuncture and even spinal fusion surgery. Nothing helped until she found Dr. Tim Tollestrup, a pain-focused peripheral nerve surgeon. Dr. Tollestrup removed her piriformis muscle successfully eliminating her buttock and sciatica pain. He operated on her again to relieve pain in her lower leg. Watch her brave journey and how she is scuba diving again thanks to the two surgeries with Dr. Tollestrup.
