I’ve had migraines since I was four. They’ve progressively worsened over the years to the point where I was once on disability because I just couldn’t function. I would sleep on ice every night on my head. I was frequent in the ER, into urgent care, trying to get relief because it was so bad. I really just wanted to die.

My pain doctor referred me to Dr. Tollestrup. I had extreme occipital pain, so when I would get my headaches, it would put pressure on my nerves, squeeze my nerves. He was able to go in and cut greater, lesser, and third occipital nerves on both sides of my head. Now I don’t feel that intense throbbing debilitating pain that I once had. I have a lot more energy. I’m happier. I went skydiving a couple months after my surgery to celebrate. I just appreciate him so much.

Not only does he do this groundbreaking nerve surgery, but I just feel like he genuinely cares about his patients, and I don’t find that in all doctors.
